Does it Hurt? Permanent Makeup Pre-Care Instructions

Before booking your Permanent Makeup Procedure it is important to follow the pre-care instructions to ensure the best possible results.

These instructions include AVOIDING blood thinning medications, alcohol, and caffeine at least 24-48 hour before your appointment.

WHY is this important?

  1. Reduced Bleeding: Blood- thinning medications, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, or certain herbal supplements, can increase the risk of bleeding during the procedure. Excessive bleeding can dilute the pigment and make it more challenging for the artist to achieve the desired results.

  2. Swelling and Inflammation : Caffeine is a stimulant that can increase blood flow and potentially contribute to swelling and inflammation. Swelling can make it more challenging for the the artist to work precisely and may affect the final outcome of the procedure. By avoiding caffeine you promote a smoother application of the pigment.

  3. Skin sensitivity: Blood tinning medications and caffeine make your skin more sensitive. Keep in mind a handheld device with tiny needles is being used to implant the pigment into the skin . If your skin is highly sensitive, it may be more uncomfortable during the process. By reducing sensitivity, you can have a more comfortable experience.

In addition, Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds for at least a week before the procedure. DO NOT undergo chemical peels, laser treatments, or any other intense facial procedures close to your appointment.
